There are many different forms of entertainment for students and not only.
Café Noir
Nice bar, fantastic food and live music as well. One of the ‘in’ places in the town. You can go to a concert there, or watch a movie, or simply sip some beverage. Watch their fanpage, there are plenty of events starting from dancing classes to drag shows.
Heban/Karpicko/Różowa Café/Śliwki na sośnie
A yuppie-style cafes in the centre. They’re not the cheapest, but the interior or best quality products make them fine places to meet your friends. You can choose from a wide range of coffees, chocolate drinks and cakes/desserts.
U Svejka
Czech style pub, where you can have a proper meal. Plenty of Czech beers to choose from. The but is quite large, great for group meetings.
Casa Mia
About 5 tables inside, close to Campus B but once you enter, you will never forget the absolutely fantastic Italian style food. And there is a fire place!
Jazzgot
Perfect place for lunch out as well as dinner plus a pint. You may try a lunch offer there.
Ohy-Ahy
Very popular place in the main square. Great chefs, you have a pizza there, a steak or some Spanish/Asian dish. Look out for Wednesday promo, when you get 2 glasses of wine for the price of 1.
Bar Turysta
Definitely the cheapest place to eat. It’s near train\bus station, so lots of travellers there.
Kuchnia u Jasia
Not the cheapest, but you can buy there a full meal for 4 EUR.
Roma, La Gondola, Papa Pizza, Koloseum, Da Grasso, Pizzahut, Manufaktura pizzy (vegan options offered)
Pizza, pasta and salad bar. This list is not exhaustive and you’ll have to check what suits you best.
If you fancy something different, there are plenty of other places offering sushi, poke bowl, crepes, Thai, Georgian, Japanese, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Wietnamese, etc.

Spots and Recreation Centre

is a Polish speedway team based in Zielona Góra who currently races in Speedway Ekstraliga. The club has won Polish Speedway League six times (latest in 2011). The stadium, informally named as W69, is located on 69 Wrocławska Street. It contains 14,000 seats, but for the most interesting matches, the capacity is raised to 15,000. The track is 337.50 metres long and has a granite surface.
Basketball “Zastal”
The Zielona Gora basketball club was founded in 1946 - but from the beginning it was not called Zastal, but the Zieloni Sports Club. It competed in the Poznan B class, and after winning it, played in the A class. In 2021 the club won the Second Vice-Championship of Poland. In the VTB league competition, we witnessed another historic season - Enea Zastal BC eventually took sixth place, but we could see great victories against teams from Moscow.
Though there is no permanent ice skating rink in Zielona Góra, during the winter when the weather allows (it’s cold enough) there are usually two temporary rinks. One of them is located in front of Focus Mall shopping centre. You can rent there ice-skates and have fun with your friends.
There are at least three bowling/snooker clubs nearby city centre. One is located at Zacisze (Campus B), and it’s called Bowling Club.
The whole town goes crazy for one week in September for the wine festival. Have fun if you’re here. The vine festival continues for a week, the key point is a the Parade, going through whole city. It is very effective spectacle promoting achievements of different schools, cultural institutions and groups, like break dance group, cheerleaders, or theatre.
Focus Mall shopping centre, Kino Newa
You can go to so called ‘second centre of Zielona Gora’ i.e. Focus Mall. Shops, cinemas, restaurants. You can also visit one the two cinemas, one is large and focused on mainstream content (Cinema-City), the other is an arthouse cinema, showing exceptional pieces awarded f.eg. at BAFTA or Cannes (Kino Newa).
Cottage Museum
The opposite for it could be a visiting a forest and a cottage Museum (in Polish called ‘skansen’) with a very old houses from the XII, XIII century with a wind and water mill and range of sculptures of local artists. There are often cultural events presenting local food and wines with different types of workshops (like candle making, bee keeping training, ceramics). You can get there by the city bus.
Keppler’s Science Centre
A place worth to see. Either for a romantic date “under the stars” or as a genuine interesting movie about astral bodies.
Theatre
Unfortunately only in Polish,.
Zielona Gora Philharmonic
Everyone interested in classical music could enjoy concerts and events organized there.
