The Walczak NAWA Programme aims to strengthen the potential of Polish scientific units and medical entities by supporting the international mobility of researchers in medical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, and health sciences. Those who carry out projects under the Programme have the opportunity to conduct scientific research and work alongside eminent specialists in the best medical centers around the world.
So far, thanks to the commitment of the Ministry of Health, three calls have been settled, which have allowed Polish doctors to learn about good research practices and new therapies and procedures in the United States. In the three editions of the program named after Professor Franciszek Walczak, grants for travel to the best medical centers in the USA were awarded to 57 people for a total of PLN 4 299 000.
The substantive support provided by the Medical Research Agency has made it possible to develop the new edition, in which the Walczak NAWA Programme opens up to the entire world.
Not only representatives of medical sciences but also pharmaceutical and health sciences will be able to apply for scholarships.
Each participant in the Walczak NAWA Programme will have the opportunity to develop their competencies in one of three tracks: teaching, research, and clinical during a stay of between one and six months.
The scholarship can be applied for by:
The fourth edition of the program also differs in the formula of financial support. The program provides funding of up to a maximum of PLN 32,000 for each month of stay in a foreign host center. The support consists of a stipend, living and accommodation costs, and travel expenses. Additionally, doctoral students and researchers who choose the scientific path and decide to go on a trip longer than three months may receive one-off material support of PLN 20,000.
